All three interviews that I conducted gave me the same answer to my idea of drug testing in a festival. The alternative to the idea would be to drug test outside of the music festivals instead of inside. I have always known this to be the alternative of my idea, but even then, most people do not bother to test their drugs. I think my service will still come out ahead of the alternative and it won’t be affected by much. I think it still would save lives, and ensure the safety of festival-goers. The products would be able to be purchased online by consumers; whereas, my service would be paid by festival planners to set up booths in the festivals to ensure the safety of its attendees. The biggest difference is that the consumer would not have to directly pay for the drug test. The services’ direct consumer would be festival planners, so its post-service evaluation would be the injuries and deaths that could be avoided with this service. All three individuals agreed that outside vendors selling drug tests would be the service’s biggest competition, and it would not necessarily be a bad thing, because people are taking steps to protect themselves.

I think your idea is still better than the alternative to do it outside. If people truly wanted drugs they would still find a way to get them inside and if they want drugs for this festival they would not volunteer to take them outside of the festival. I believe that your idea is still a good one and the alternative to take them outside will not be as effective.

DeleteI believe that the best way to perform this is to have it inside the festival because a lot of the times, people are funneled into one area to get in the festival. They are also not thinking about doing anything outside the festival except to get into the festival. Once the people get inside, they will be more likely to visit your booth because they won't have any constraints on time or areas to go.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the people you interviewed that drug testing inside the festival would be the best way. Especially if the service was provided in the cost of the festival ticket, so there was no additional charge to get the drugs tested. If there was an additional charge, like vendors would have outside the festival, people would be much less inclined to pay after spending so much money on the festival.

ReplyDeleteI think that it is a very good idea to have this service offered inside the venue. I think that if it was outside the venue people would just walk by it and rush to get inside the venue, but with it inside more people will be willing to use it. I also think that it is a good idea to include the cost of this service in the ticket as this would prevent people from being discouraged once they are at the event from spending extra money for your service.
Hi Duc, I think your interviews were able to shed some light on any kinks and problems you have with this idea.I like how you showcased an alternate idea as a backup in case this one did not work. Good job, I think having a safe environment inside is a really good idea keep up the work.

ReplyDeleteYou've interviewed a couple of prototypical customers who gave you more insight on where to hold the drug tests. Now with your knowledge you still believe it is best to hold them inside which is great that you're still sticking to your plan while still hearing the thoughts of possible customers. Keep up the good work.
